About Us

The Education Center in Rising Sun, Indiana is dedicated to moving education levels up by offering high school equivalency and children STEM programs. It is the only center of its kind in Rising Sun, Indiana, making it a unique and valuable resource for the community.

The Education Center of Rising Sun was established in June of 2008 with a grant from the Lilly Endowment, Inc., to the Heritage Fund (the Community Foundation of Bartholomew County, Inc.) - called Economic Opportunities by 2015 (Now known as EcO Network).   ECO Network aspires to create a truly regional system of lifelong learning.  The grant was a pass-through grant through the Ohio County Community Foundation.  The goal is to connect residents of Southeast Indiana to economic opportunities through education.  The essence is that by working together as a region, we will be able to move each person up at least one level in his/her training, education and/or job placement.

The Education Center houses a 16-station computer lab, a 9-station open computer lab, a conference room, small banquet room and a certified commercial kitchen.
